This week, Forest Park’s senior running back and outside linebacker, Landon Hunt, has been named Player of the Week for his incredible performance on both sides of the ball. Landon’s athleticism and leadership were key factors in helping his team achieve success, showcasing his ability to make big plays when it matters most.
Landon put up impressive stats for the week, racking up 176 rushing yards and 90 receiving yards, including a highlight-reel-worthy 90-yard touchdown reception. Reflecting on his standout moment, Landon said, "The 90-yard receiving touchdown was definitely the biggest highlight of the week for me."
In addition to his offensive prowess, Landon contributed to his team’s success by running hard and "sniffing the endzone." His aggressive, never-give-up attitude on the field set the tone for Forest Park. One of the key moments that stood out to him during the game was the team’s ability to stop their opponent at the goal line. "That stop was huge for us," Landon remarked.
Landon's love for football and his goal of going to college fuel his motivation to perform at his best. He also draws inspiration from his parents, who he describes as the "most hardworking people I know." Their constant support and example push him to strive for excellence on and off the field.
Handling pressure is second nature to Landon. In high-stakes moments, he focuses on keeping his head in the game and going 100% on every play. His mentality has helped him overcome challenges and maintain his focus during crucial situations.
Looking ahead, Landon’s goals for the rest of the season are ambitious: to go undefeated and make a deep playoff run with his team. Beyond this season, he hopes to play football at the professional level while also earning a college degree.
When he’s not on the football field, Landon enjoys spending time with his family and friends, listening to music, and playing video games. Before every game, he watches Kyrie Irving highlights to get in the zone, a pre-game ritual that helps him mentally prepare for the action ahead.
To his teammates and coaches, Landon expressed heartfelt gratitude: "I’d like to thank them. I wouldn’t be in the position I am right now without their belief in me and pushing me to be the best version of myself possible."
