Fredericks’ Fearless Friday Forecast

Writer: novafootballpodcasnovafootballpodcas

Again, I am trending in a much better direction then my Philadelphia Eagles for what it is worth. Thru five weeks we have seen so many highlight reel worth plays we lost count. Keep in mind now that with many teams beginning their playoff pushes, to expect more!

Madison @ South County

You can’t sugar coat the injury bug for the Stallions thus far, losing several starters to injury both short and long term has made Coach Pannoni’s job much more difficult. They should have more guys back this week as they welcome in the Madison Warhawks who are humming on all cylinders. Not only does Madison have maybe the best defense in the state, offensively they are a well-oiled machine.  Cael Yates has been better than a year ago which is really saying something, but I watched him two weeks ago and he looks faster and stronger. He will be a tough task to stop along with Coast Carolina commit Dominic Knicely for the Stallions. South County will welcome the challenge, and I expect this to be a close contest.

Herndon @ Washington-Liberty

I said this on the podcast the other night, but this will be Washington-Liberty toughest challenge on the season facing Herndon. The Hornets have an outstanding defense lead by Coach Josh Richards, and they will welcome the challenge of the Generals. If you haven’t noticed the Generals led by star quarterback Matthew Abramson have been averaging over 40 points per contest. Including putting a crooked number against long time rival Yorktown, this squad is no joke.

Score Prediction: WL 31 Herndon 20

Gar-Field @ Colgan

A major matchup in the Cardinal District as the Gar-Field Red Wolves make the trip to Manassas to face the Colgan Sharks. Both teams sit at 2-2 (just like last year) and both obviously need the victory to keep up in the playoff race. Last fall was a back-and-forth contest, and I would expect the same tomorrow night. If Colgan can pull it off, they will be in prime position to make the playoffs for the first time in school history.

Score Prediction Colgan 24 Gar-Field 16

Langley @ Marshall

Two teams that look playoff worthy and Marshall at 2-2 desperately needs this if they want to keep up. Thus far nobody has been able to contain the Langley Saxons and quarterback Cole Samburg is playing as well as any qb in the state. Two contrasting styles offensively in this one, I would not be surprised if the Statesmen pull of some trick plays to catch the Saxons off guard a bit.

Score Prediction Langley 34 Marshall 20
