A new chapter begins for the Freedom South Riding Eagles with Teddy Whitney stepping in as head coach this season. Though Whitney is a familiar face, having served on the coaching staff for thirteen years prior, his new role brings a renewed energy and vision for the team. "I am a new head coach and I am excited about this season," Whitney says, reflecting his enthusiasm for the upcoming year.

The off-season at Freedom South Riding has been a period of solid groundwork and team bonding. Whitney highlights the dedication and camaraderie of his players, noting their hard work and willingness to embrace a new system. "We are focusing on building a strong foundation, working hard, and fostering discipline and teamwork," he explains. This commitment to developing trust among players and between the team and the coaching staff is evident in the Eagles' approach to the season.

The schedule for Freedom South Riding promises to be challenging, with numerous strong opponents lined up. "Our schedule is always tough. There are so many good teams. I feel like all games are key for us this year," Whitney notes. The team’s goal is continuous improvement, and Whitney emphasizes that "our aim is to get better each week," reflecting the focus on progress rather than immediate outcomes.

The Eagles will rely on several key returners to lead the charge this season. Wide receivers Wade Farrar and Josh Johnson, along with offensive lineman Frankie D’Amico, are expected to play pivotal roles. Whitney is enthusiastic about giving all players a chance to make their mark. "As a new staff, we are excited for all of our players to get the opportunity to assert themselves and shine," he says.

"I’m thrilled to lead this team into a new era," Whitney shares. "Our goal is to harness our collective strength and dedication to make this season one to remember."
