This week, Colgan High School’s junior quarterback, George Hall, has been named the Concorde District Football Player of the Week for his remarkable efficiency and leadership on the field. George’s ability to make smart decisions and deliver accurate passes was a key factor in his team’s success, earning him this prestigious recognition.
George’s stats for the week were nothing short of impressive, with 29 pass attempts and only 2 incompletions—a testament to his precision and control over the game. One of his biggest highlights came from a deep pass to his wide receiver, Tyler Musselman, a play that showcased his arm strength and ability to connect on long throws. "My passing numbers were key, but that deep pass to Tyler was definitely a highlight," George shared.
Contributing to his team’s success, George emphasized his role in maintaining offensive efficiency. "I feel like I contributed to the team’s success by being very efficient in passing," he said. His consistent performance kept the chains moving and allowed Colgan to dominate offensively.
George draws motivation from his father, who has been his biggest supporter and coach since he was five years old. "My dad is my biggest motivation—he’s been working with me since I was little and sacrifices a lot for me," George explained, reflecting on the significant influence his father has had on his football journey.
Handling pressure is a critical aspect of playing quarterback, and George approaches it with a calm mindset. "Whenever there is pressure, I try to keep myself and my team calm and trust that God has got us," he said, demonstrating his leadership and composure under stress.
Looking ahead, George has set high goals for himself and his team. He aims to win the rest of their games this season and to pass for at least 250 yards per game. His long-term goal is to make it to the NFL, a dream that drives his dedication and work ethic.
Off the field, George enjoys hanging out with friends and playing video games—activities that help him relax and recharge. Before every game, he prays, grounding himself and preparing mentally for the challenges ahead.
