This week, the National District Football Player of the Week is Isaiah French, a senior quarterback from Hayfield Secondary School. Wearing jersey number 5, Isaiah has been a pivotal force for his team, leading the offense with precision and poise.

Isaiah delivered an outstanding performance in his recent game, completing 28 of 34 passes for 300 yards and throwing four touchdowns. Reflecting on his game, Isaiah noted, “It wasn’t really a highlight, but just being efficient and accurate.” His focus on efficiency and accuracy was evident as he consistently got the ball to his playmakers, allowing them to shine. “I think I played a good role in our offense by getting the ball out to our athletes and letting them be great,” he shared, underscoring his commitment to team success over personal accolades.

His leadership and sportsmanship didn't go unnoticed, even by members of the opposing side. Remarkably, there were people from West Springfield on the Hayfield sideline working the game who praised Isaiah for his leadership and character. It’s rare to hear such high praise from the opposing team, which speaks volumes about Isaiah's conduct on and off the field. Their recognition highlights the respect he commands, even from those competing against him.

“We didn’t have many negative plays and no flags,” Isaiah mentioned, emphasizing the disciplined approach that characterized his team's performance. Under his guidance, the offense operated smoothly, minimizing mistakes and staying focused. His ability to lead by example, maintaining a calm and composed demeanor, has been a key factor in Hayfield's success.

Isaiah draws motivation from those closest to him—his family and his teammates. “My family and my teammates, seeing how much we go through with all the outside noise and things, it just brings us closer and makes us compete,” he explained. This tight-knit bond and sense of unity help him handle the pressures that come with being the leader of the team.

Looking to the future, Isaiah is taking things step by step with football, remaining open to wherever the journey takes him. “My future goals are just making it step by step with football and letting it lead me far,” he stated, maintaining a humble yet determined outlook.

Off the field, Isaiah enjoys fishing, a calm and contemplative activity that balances the high intensity of football. This passion reflects his ability to stay focused and composed, traits that have clearly contributed to his recognition as a player of the week.

Congratulations to Isaiah French for being named the National District Football Player of the Week! His dedication, leadership, and exemplary sportsmanship have not only earned him the respect of his own team but also of those from opposing sidelines—a true testament to his character.
